Intersession/Summer session classes at VIU

As part of our continuing efforts to navigate the pandemic and support ongoing Public Health orders, we have decided that intersession/summer session classes will go ahead in an alternate course delivery model with limited face-to-face classes. This will allow us to continue to put the health and safety of our students and employees first.

Students who are registered for classes during this time period (May to August 2021) will receive more details from their course instructors in the first week of April. For those of you with face-to-face components to your courses, please review our COVID-19 Protocols for On-Campus Activities page. Please also be sure to review our Frequently Asked Questions page for information on everything from buying textbooks, to accessing services and supports, to where to get more information on a variety of topics.

Fall 2021

We know many of you may also have questions about what is happening for Fall 2021. While we are hoping for the best, we are planning for multiple Fall 2021 scenarios to ensure we are in alignment with current provincial health orders. The situation will continue to evolve over the next few months, and we will communicate more as soon as we are able. Tentative plans will be available at the latest by registration time.

Expressing Gratitude to our Community

To all of our employees, thank you for all the hard work, time and effort you have put into your professions during this time of great change and uncertainty. And to our students, I am proud of you for all you have accomplished over the past year. Even if it wasn’t the year you wanted, you showed up; we are inspired by your resilience.
