COVID-19: Updates and Information

Mask Guidelines at VIU Facilities (Updated November 20, 2020)

On Thursday November 19 2020, BC Provincial Health Officer Dr. Henry announced that wearing a mask is now required in all indoor public settings. Wearing a mask is especially important as BC is facing both the presence of COVID-19 in our communities and the start of the respiratory illness season.

VIU supports this requirement, which means that masks should be worn at all times in all VIU indoor public areas. This includes hallways, stairwells, elevators, lunch rooms, and any other area where you cannot be more than 2m apart from another person.

Note: exemptions include anyone with an underlying medical condition or disability that inhibits their ability to wear a mask or face covering, or cannot put on or remove a mask on their own.

Don’t have a non-medical mask? Visit the Campus Store.
