Wearing a mask at VIU Facilities

Vancouver Island University has issued the following guidelines for use of non-medical masks on VIU campuses and other properties:

  • Non-medical masks are required to be worn in situations where physical distancing of at least two metres is not maintained or is difficult to maintain. This applies to:
    • work/learning activities,
    • non-work/non-instructional activities and
    • while outside or inside buildings.
  • Wherever it is possible to keep two metres apart from others, wearing non-medical masks is strongly recommended but not required.

Note: exemptions include: anyone with an underlying medical condition or disability that inhibits their ability to wear a mask or face covering.

Don’t have a non-medical mask? Visit the Campus Store.
