Master of Education Program at Vancouver Island University

Distinguished VIU Alumni and Master's of Education students will present March 3 at the Nanaimo Campus

Vancouver Island University (VIU) Master’s of Education graduate students explore and develop ideas that impact how we understand and implement teaching strategies at every level. Join them on March 3 as they present their work at the 2018 Master’s of Education Research Conference.

We are excited to announce our keynote speaker - Denise Augustine, Director of Aboriginal Education and Learner Engagement, Cowichan Valley School District (SD 79).  Denise Augustine was recently a recipient of the Learning Forward Foundation Professional Learning Innovation Think Tank Challenge award. We look forward to hearing about the professional learning innovations in SD 79 which have had positive impacts for all learners.

Concurrent research session topics include:

  • Experiences with place-based learning/outdoor education
  • Instructional strategies for implementing new BC curriculum
  • Supporting International Students
  • Indigenous Education
  • Technological Innovations

This year's conference registration for presenters closes February 10.

Registration for attendees is open until February 23. Participation is free and coffee and lunch is provided. There are a limited number of spots so please register early!
