RCMP Victim Services workers can be called in at the request of the RCMP to attend to and support victims of sexual assault at the Cowichan District Hospital (CDH) if the RCMP is involved or if the survivor is considering pressing charges immediately or in the future. With the consent and at the request of the survivor, RCMP VS will make a referral to Community-Based Victim Services at Cowichan Woman Against Violence Society (CWAV) Society. |

Whether you are in fear of becoming a victim, a survivor of abuse or assault, or a family member of someone who has been victimized, SVSS offers emotional support and practical assistance. This includes guidance through the legal system, we provide court orientation and accompaniment, we explain Peace Bonds and Restraining Orders, and can help you complete your Victim Impact Statement and application for Crime Victim Assistance Program. We can assist with safety planning including home alarm installation. We will be the advocate for you at all stages! |
