VIU has policies and procedures for dealing with, threats and violence in the workplace. In the event that you are caught in a violent incident we have the Violent Assailant Procedure that can provide some guidance when all else has failed.
Risk and Threat Assessment Team (RTAT) is responsible for gathering and conducting a fact-based assessment of information/data pertaining to students, employees or visitors who may present a risk or potential threat of harm or violence to the VIU community.
Please report concerns to Health and Safety Services and we will ensure that your concerns are followed up on immediately.
