If 911 is called, please have someone nearby call 1.250.740.6600 to report the incident to VIU
For First Aid
- Dial local 6600 from any internal phone or Dial 1.250.740.6600 from your cell phone.
- Campus Security First Aid Attendants are equipped with Naloxone kits
Two drop in First Aid stations are available on the Nanaimo campus for minor injuries during business hours. They are located in the gymnasium (Building 190) at the front reception desk and in the Security Office (Building 315).

Deep Bay Marine Field Station
For Medical Emergencies, Call 911
- Immediately inform a VIU employee working at the site
- After hours, or if building is locked, use the Yellow emergency call box that is located outside the main entrance
- AED located in the main open area, behind the reception desk
